For landowners in the Stratford-on-Avon District Council area. Local plan status checked against council sources on 12 October 2026.
Stratford-on-Avon is preparing the joint South Warwickshire Local Plan with Warwick District. It will replace the strategic policies of the Stratford-on-Avon Core Strategy (to 2031). The final (Regulation 19) consultation closed on 8 September 2026, and submission for examination is targeted by 31 December 2026.
The draft plan includes growth locations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Wellesbourne, Southam, Bidford-on-Avon, Gaydon, Henley-in-Arden and Long Marston Airfield. The north-west of the district, around Henley-in-Arden and towards Solihull and Redditch, includes Green Belt. Much of the south and east is open countryside outside the Green Belt, where different policies apply. Read our plain-English guide to grey belt land.
Including land around Stratford-upon-Avon, Henley-in-Arden, Wellesbourne, Southam, Bidford-on-Avon, Alcester. If your land is elsewhere in the area, get in touch anyway.
Tell us roughly where your land is and its size. We do some free desk checks, then, if it looks promising and you agree, we introduce you to a land promoter who works in the area. Their fee comes from the eventual sale, and our fee is paid by the promoter. Always take independent legal advice before signing anything. More on how land promotion works.
